New Years' Eve Party

Just a reminder that this Friday night is the New Years Eve Party at the Ring's house starting at 8:00 PM. Ring Prayer Request

Just got a call letting me know that they admitted Lexi Ring into the hospital to start IV antibiotics for a severe infection in her head wound from last Monday. It got progressively worse, so they cut it back open to let it drain. She is at Mercy in RM 518. I will keep you updated with any information as I get them.

Marriage Retreat

Steve and Susan are having a marriage retreat during Valentine's weekend in Branson at the Hilton at Branson Landing the rooms are only $99 per night for a two night stay plus the registration cost.

Jennifer Ring's Mom

I wanted to give an update on Jennifer Ring's mom. She had her surgery yesterday and is in stable condition. They may take her chest tube out tomorrow, which will help with the pain. They are pretty sure there is no cancer, but the final pathology report is not ready yet. Continue to keep her and her family in your prayers.

Foster Care Closet Needs

Christmas Party - Dec. 11th

We are having our annual class Christmas Party on Sat., Dec. 11th starting at 4:00 PM. We are catering the meat ($5/family) and bringing potluck dishes for the sides and dessert. We will also have childcare available for $5/child, but am needing to get a head count so we can arrange childcare workers. We will do a white elephant gift and a "nicer" gift with a $10 limit. Your family can chose to bring only 1 gift if only 1 of you plans to play. We also plan to bring a gift for the Foster Care Closet as a class outreach. Several Lifeway Teachers have parents/grandparents who passed away last week or are deathly ill. Please keep them all in your prayers as well as the school.

Bartmiers/Roughleys/Swarengins - their grandmother had a mini stroke, she is doing ok, but has a long road of recovery. She is in Colorado so its very difficult for them, as they can't go see her.

Gayduseks - Warren's mom now has to have an ankle replacement.

There are more than 2x the number of kids in the foster system today as there were this time last year. Pray fro people to step up and help, as well as, families being healed.

Tidwells - Their friend, Brian Lovell's mother had a stroke on Friday. Pray for healing and a quick recovery. She is in her early 50s.

Paisley Grace Addington has arrived!

Paisley arrived Fri., Sept 17th weighing 8lbs 10ozs and was 20 1/4" long. Mom and baby are doing well. We will start meals soon for the Addingtons.

Class Summer of Prayer

Each Sunday School Class has been asked to pick 3 times during the summer to meet together to pray in correlation to our churchwide "Summer of Prayer." So, below is a list of dates that we will have our class designated times of prayers. I hope that each of you make a point to attend them, but if not please feel free to email me a list of prayer requests, and we will pray specifically for them at that time. Also, remember that our church is open Mon-Fri from 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM through Aug 10th. Please make a point to stop by and pray if you get a chance.

Sunday, June 13th: We will designate this coming Sunday school hour to praying (this will allow us to focus on prayer and not worry about who has our children, etc). Jeff will come with some specific things we will pray for, and then we can add some that morning. We will break into groups, pray and then meet all together to finish up. Please make every effort to be here this Sunday.

Sat., July 3rd: We will take some time at our 4th social to break up into women/men groups to pray. While one group is praying the others will entertain the kids and vice versa. Again, we will send out an email before them to collect any prayer requests ahead of time.

Sun., Aug. 8th: Again we will designate this Sunday morning as a time of prayer.

J&A Simpson - Athena is having her wisdom teeth removed on Monday. Also, a family friend of Athena, John, learned last week that he has stage 3 cancer in his lymphnodes. Lastly, pray for the healing of Jared's shoulder.

Tammy woke up to her old self this morning. She doesn't remember anything from the past two days except she said she heard beautiful music one time (I suspect it was the wee hours of Sunday morning when things got pretty critical).

We have finally gotten enough leaders to start our class life groups. We have 4 leading couples, and have randomly selected those who will be under each leader group. Prayer Requests - 4.25.10

Rings - Pray for Todd's cousin, Bill and Crysten Morgan, they lost their baby this past week and had to deliver stillborn. Please pray for the Lisenbee family, David, Tammy, Lauren, and Tyler fromHeber Springs. Tammy, the mother, is in grave condition with pneumoniaand congestive heart failure. She was diagnosed with amyloidosis a few months ago and deteriorated quickly. This family is a dear to their family, all are wonderful believers! Also, please pray for Todd's mother as this is her best friend. His mom has lost a lot this past year, she needs to be lifted up!

Tidwells - Jason's grandfather has been put on painkillers that have made him sleep almost 24/7. They don't know if he is in enough pain to warrant that amount of meds or not. (He can't communicate well because of multiple strokes). Praise!! Laura got a new job as Lifeway's librarian.

Boyers - Court on Thursday

Wingards - Halle is still sick. Pray for her to get well. Kelly's dad, Aaron, dealing with job issues.

May Social - Sunday, May 2nd

LifeWalk for Loving Choices

LifeWalk:
Is a fundraiser for the crisis pregnancy center and promotes awareness of their services to our area. It is a short walk and participants are asked to raise at least $200 (with a free t-shirt incentive), but $200 in pledges are not required to participate. We could have a picnic and play at Tyson Park after, if there is interest from our class. Hutchison James Roughley has arrived!!!

I wanted to let everyone know that Hutch arrived late this afternoon at 4:07 PM. He weighs 8lbs 5ozs and is 21" long. Mom and baby are doing well. They are at Mercy Hospital in Room 524. We will start meals on Sunday, I will have a signup in class.

Prayer Requests - 3.28.10

Caplenas - Brandon's younger brother,Tim,has small spot of basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer)on his face near his ear. He will be having Mohs surgery on Thursday morning to remove the spot and the surrounding tissue to prevent spreading. Please keep him in your prayers. Please also keep his brother Aaron in your prayers as he is still having spinal headaches and recovering from a spinal patch as he waits for the multiple sclerosis test results.

Flynts - One of Chris's employees, Paul Spear, went into the hospital on Friday afternoon with what they thought was pancreatis. When he got to hospital his kidneys began to shut down, and his lungs has damage to them. He was put on dialisis and a vent, and also airlifted to LR on Sunday night/Monday morning. He then passed away last night (Monday). Please remember this family as it was very sudden and unexpected.

Easter Egg Hunt

On Sat., April 3rd we will be having our annual class Easter Egg Hunt at J&D Simpson's farm. We will start around 3:00 PM with the hunt starting at 3:30 PM and then eating after. This will happen rain or shine, as they have a covered arena we can use if it does rain. Please plan to bring a dozen eggs for each kid, and $10/family for food. DNOW Participation

I wanted to encourage those who can to take an active part in this year's DNOW. Aaron has came to us and asked us to be thinking of any area that we can help them out. Please get in touch with me or Aaron if you have any questions. Below is a list of areas that they are needing volunteers:

Host Home Families
Host homes will provide a place to stay for a group of students for the entire weekend, Friday night through Sunday morning. They open their homes for the students to dive into discipleship and to fellowship as the weekend progresses. They will be responsible to help transport the students in their homes, along with the help of the co-host (see below). Host home families will also be responsible for providing Saturday breakfast and lunch with the provided budget given by the church. This is a vital role because this is the place where lives will be changed for the glory of Christ. We will need 15 host homes, as well as 5 back up homes who are willing to step in at the last minute.

Co-Host (Transportation and Meals)
Co-hosts will be a second hand to the host home families. These people will help the host home with all transportation during the weekend. They will also help the host home family cook and serve the Saturday morning breakfast and lunch. You will be an active participant with the weekend and the students in this role. When you volunteer for this, please let us know how many students you will be able to help transport. We are looking for 15-20 co-hosts.

Food Crew (Shelby)
This crew will help Shelby serve the food and clean up after the meals on Thursday evening, Saturday evening, and Sunday morning. This team will be composed of six individuals.

Clean-Up Crew
This crew will be responsible for helping to clean up and set-up the facilities after each event held at the church. We are looking for a group of 8 people to help out during each of the following times: Thursday evening, Saturday dinner, Saturday evening, Sunday morning.

Recreation Team
This group of people will serve during the Saturday afternoon recreation time. They will help to man and referee the inflatables, as well as interact with the students. Each person will be trained that day for their specific role. We are looking for 15 people to serve on the recreation team.

Prayer Warriors
This person would begin now by bathing the D-Now weekend in prayer. As the weekend approaches this person would begin to pray over the events that will be taking place, as well as for the host home families and the discipleship group leaders that will be involved in the weekend. A prayer warrior would pray during and throughout the weekend for the spiritual lives of the students. This is a great way to be a part of the weekend! We are looking for 20 prayer warriors.

Scholarships
This person would give financially to help a student(s) receive a scholarship to Disciple Now Weekend. Monetary donations can be placed in the church offering in an envelope marked “D-Now Scholarships” or can be given directly to Laura Snowden in the church office.

Sunday Breakfast
This team of people would help to prepare, cook, serve and clean-up the Sunday morning breakfast for the students. We will need 10 volunteers for this task.

Roughleys - Baby is breech at the moment, if he hasn't turned by Thurs., Crissy will be admitted to try and turn him.

Rings - A friend of theirs, Tammy Lizenbee, just found out she has bone marrow cancer. They caught it early, so there is hope.

Colleys - Continue to pray for them as they begin work with the 20-somethings.

Tidwells - Laura is still running fever occassionally. Friday night it spiked to 102, then Sat., none at all. It is always in the afternoon or evening fevers.

FBC Bentonville is hosting Dave’s live simulcast on Saturday, March 13th, noon-5:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to receive new information as well as a refresher of Financial Peace University. Also, if you have a friend or relative who you think might benefit from FPU, this would be a great introduction to what it is all about. Rings - Pray for their business. They submitted a large bid that will be a huge blessing if they receive the job. Pray for God's will and blessing on that bid.

Hands - Pray for Emily's grandpa, who was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot on Sat.

Gayduseks - Warren's mom is scheduled for a total hip replacement on Feb. 25th. The ulcer on her foot is starting to come back and may push back her surgery. Pray this does not happen.

Kellen Powell Davis has arrived

Jon and Jen Davis welcomed Kellen into the world this morning (2/9/10) at 6:30 AM. He was 6lbs 13ozs. Mom and baby are well, just tired. Please say a prayer that Jen will get some much needed rest. We will get a signup sheet going for meals for them.

We are about to begin a new study on Sunday mornings: Crazy Love. Feel free to go to their website to familiarize yourself with what it is all about. There are also video clips on the website, that might be good to look at. We will see a video clip and then have a time of discussion. Also, you do not have to buy the book, but if you want to you can get it at Wal-mart for about $11.

Owen Chase Cannaday has arrived!!!

Shaun and Karen welcomed Owen on Sunday afternoon around 4:00 PM. He weighed 8lbs 1oz and was 19" long. Mom and baby are doing well.

Paul Prayer Request

One of Dana's friends, Misty Dobson, who is 33 and just had a double mastectomy due to stage 3 breast cancer. Praying that scan results show it did not spread to other organs. She has two small children.
