Prayer Requests - 8/24
Wingards - Emily's surgery is on Friday morning, pray for all of them during this time.
Rings - Praise! Their nephew, Greson Miles, brain swelling has gone down.
Caplenas - Pray for Brandon as he starts a new job (2nd shift), and pray that he finds something better to bring him back home in the evenings.
Gayduseks - Pray for Shelly as she is struggling with job and wanting to be able to stay home with Gracen.
Bennetts - Desiree's sister is scheduled to have her baby this week, she will be induced on Thurs., 8/28.
Flynts - Pray for Chris's grandma, she fell on Sunday and broke her hip. She had surgery on Monday, so please pray that she will be strong in the recovery process.

Friend Day - Aug 24th
We will be having a luncheon after Sunday School this coming Sunday to celebrate Friend Day. I need a head count as to who will be attending so that I can get enough food. It will be outside building A by the new playground. The costs is $5/person. Flynts - Misty has an appt in Joplin on Monday to meet with a specialist to check on one of the girls kidneys. Please pray for a good report and safety in travels.
Tidwells - Jason has another interview on Monday with Wal-Mart.
Hands - Continue to pray for them.
Bartmiers - School starts Monday for Nick and on the 25th for Sarah.
Rings - Pray for them and their financial situation. Pray for Jennifer as she seeks out a job.
Wingards - Emily is having her tonsils and adnoids out on Aug. 29th. Also, Tim will be the one at home for two weeks during her recovery. Pray for Tim, Emily and for Kelly that she can focus on her job as Emily is recovering at home.

Upcoming Events
August:
*Friend Day - Aug 24th
We will be having a luncheon after church on the 24th to celebrate Friend Day at church after Sunday School. We will have a picnic outside of Building A by the new playground. We can eat and the kids can play. It will be $5/person, and this will cover food and drinks. There will be a sign up sheet on Sunday in class, and it would be great if you could pay your money then as well.
September:
*Watch Party - Arkansas vs Texas football game - Sat., Sept 13th
The game starts at 2:30 PM, and we plan on projecting the game on the wall in the upper room, and will have access to the playground right outside for the kids to play. We will do snacks during this time, and will pass around a sign up sheet as it gets closer.
*Marriage Conference - we mentioned doing a marriage conference at the end of September, but because of conflicting with other church activities we are postponing the conference until beginning of 2009.

Laden Tyler Hand Funeral
There will be a funeral on Friday., Aug 8th at 10:00 AM at the Rogers Cemetary off of New Hope. This will be a very private service open only to SS class and family. Below are some directions to the Rogers Cemetary:
Rogers Cemetary is on the corner of 8th Street and Oak. You will have to enter the cemetary from 10th Street. Once you enter you will see a Black Iron Gate, this is baby land and the funeral will be in there.

Hand Update
I wanted to let everyone that Laden Tyler Hand was born this afternoon around 12:30 PM, and passed away around 2:30 PM. Please keep the Hands in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time. They are at Willow Creek, and will probably be in there for the next few days.

Hands Update
They have gotten Emily's blood pressure to go down, so they are waiting to do the c-section for at least 24 hrs depending on her pressure staying down. They have given the baby a steroid and that is why they are trying to wait for 24 hrs. So, continue to check back and I will post updates as I get them. Right now, they just need all the prayers that we can give.
Prayer Requests - Hands
Please pray for the Hands as they are in the hospital right now, and will have a c-section done this afternoon. Please pray that as they get the baby out, the doctors and nurses will be able to take care of this baby, and that God will deliver a miracle.
